Money Saving Challenge

I was reading Rhonda's post over at If You Do Stuff, Stuff Gets Done, and she posted about a Money Savings Challenge over at Frugal Makes Cents.  Lately I have been lazy and have been splurging too much.  I don't think I did too bad with Christmas shopping but it is time to reel myself in.  An example of how lazy I had been is when I was thinking about dinner yesterday.  I already knew I was making stew, great for the weather we have been having, but I almost picked up the phone to ask my husband to pick up rolls.  I suffered immediate guilt because I was going to make brownies for the kids and just picked up Little Debbie's at the dollar store while I was there.  I asked myself, how lazy are you going to get?  So I whipped out my Jackie Clay recipe for spoon rolls.  You can find it online here.  The correction I would make to this recipe is that you need 3/4 cup warm water in the ingredients, first rise is 1- 1-1/2 hours and second rise in muffin tins is about 45 minutes.  Cook time for me was 20 minutes not 10 minutes.   They always work for me and when all was said and done, homemade stew and rolls did the trick, all the stew was gone and one roll was left.  I have misplaced my price book and will have to add cost per serving later.

  2. I've been lazy, too, lately. I tell myself it's because we did so much traveling in December. But mostly it's because I've been lazy! ENOUGH! :-)
